Get Ready to Cheer: Pixar’s First-Ever Original Series, Win or Lose, Lands on Disney+!

Hey kids! Grab your popcorn and mark your calendars—Pixar Animation Studios is stepping up to the plate with their very first original series, Win or Lose! Premiering on Disney+ on February 19, this exciting show takes you right into the middle of a championship softball game. But here’s the twist—it’s not just about the players. You’ll get to see the big day unfold through the eyes of eight different characters, from nervous kids and helicopter parents to, believe it or not, a lovesick umpire!

Each episode dives into a different perspective, offering funny, emotional, and one-of-a-kind animated stories that show there’s more to life (and sport) than just winning.

Meet the Team!

This all-star series features a fantastic cast of voice actors, including Will Forte (The Lego Movie), Rosa Salazar (Big Mouth), and Josh Thomson (Young Rock). You’ll also hear Lil Rel Howery, Milan Elizabeth Ray, and even comedy stars like Melissa Villaseñor and Jo Firestone.

Music That Hits a Home Run

The show doesn’t just stop at amazing animation and storytelling—it’s got a killer soundtrack too! The music is composed by Ramin Djawadi, known for his incredible work on Game of Thrones, with original songs by CAMPFIRE and Djawadi that will have you humming along.

“I played softball growing up,” said Carrie Hobson, who wrote, directed and executive produced the series with Michael Yates. “Inspired by that experience, we felt fast-pitch softball was the perfect backdrop for the show. There are so many facets to playing sports that I love—it can bring out the best and worst of a person, the calmest person can lose their temper. And when it comes to winning and losing—the consequences are nothing, and yet, they’re everything. We really felt like it was the best arena for the themes we loved.”

According to Yates, the idea of spotlighting different perspectives was born of everyday life at Pixar. “Carrie and I were officemates on ‘Toy Story 4,’” he said. “We were both story artists on the film, and we would talk about a lot of things going on in the film, as well as things going on in the world—current events, news. We would always have different reactions or different interpretations of the same meeting. One of us would say, ‘That went great!’ and the other would say, ‘No! It was terrible, what are you talking about?’ We realised that our own experiences that we bring to the table change our perception of an event. We wanted to tell a story that illustrated all of that.”

Why You’ll Love It

Whether you’re a sports fan, a laugh-lover, or someone who enjoys a good heartwarming story, Win or Lose promises something for everyone. The show mixes hilarious moments, emotional twists, and stunning animation to keep you glued to the screen.

So, don’t strike out—catch Win or Lose streaming on Disney+ this February and see what happens when teamwork, dreams, and a little bit of chaos collide!

Fun Fact: Did you know Pixar is behind movies like Finding Nemo and Toy Story? This is their first time creating a series, and it’s sure to be a home run!

Stay tuned for more entertainment news, and remember, sometimes the best moments come from playing the game—not just winning it!
